Quick guide — where to go in the app

PermitArc stays out of your way. This page is the map: what each alert means, where to read it, and how uploads make AI smarter over time.

Start here (first week)

Add a location

Pick business type, address, and ZIP. Patrol and proactive review use that scope — not generic national checklists.

Scan your permits

Camera or PDF. AI pulls expiration dates so Expiration Radar can warn you at 30, 15, and 5 days.

Open Intel Deck

Patrol updates, proactive suggestions, and your communication toggles live here. Check it once a week.

Upload more → smarter AI → fewer repeat nags

The more licenses, insurance certificates, and permits you store for each shop, the better Proactive Compliance understands what's already on file. A thin vault gets more “you may be missing…” suggestions. A complete vault gets quieter, sharper reviews — and the same suggestion won't spam you week after week once you've addressed it or uploaded the document.

Proactive

Vault gap suggestions

Where: Intel Deck → Proactive Updates · purple strips on Dashboard map (optional dismiss with X).
Soft suggestions from documents you've uploaded — not legal accusations.

Expiration Radar

Deadlines on file

Where: Dashboard · red/amber compliance metrics.
Based on expiration dates AI extracted from your scans — not guesses.

Communication Profile (email, push, Discord)

Intel Deck → open Communication Profile. Same toggles control Patrol, Proactive, and Expiration Radar outbound alerts.

Reading alerts (important)

Hide on map ≠ read

Tapping X on a proactive map strip hides it until you open the full brief in Intel Deck. Your unread badge stays until you read there.

View full brief

In Patrol or Proactive lists, tap View full brief to read and mark an item read. Scrolling past a row does not count as reading.

Mark all read

The ✓ icon in an inbox clears everything at once if you're caught up.

Quick FAQ

Why did I get email but no push?

Push must be ON in Communication Profile and your phone must allow notifications for PermitArc. Email and in-app still work if push is off.

Why no proactive suggestion this week?

Quiet weeks are normal when your vault hasn't changed or nothing new applies to your business type and area. Patrol can also be quiet when no official changes appear.

Will it keep telling me about the same grease trap / food handler cert?

Once you upload the document or we've already suggested the same item, Proactive suppresses repeats. Fill the vault and suggestions drop sharply.

Is this legal advice?

No. PermitArc summarizes your documents and public sources. Verify with officials before you rely on any date or requirement.
